NOT FLOWER is a flower shop located in a renovated old wooden house tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. In addition to fresh and dried flowers, the shop also showcases a variety of postcards and small items the owner has collected over the years, both in Japan and abroad. Most of the items in the shop—including vases—are available for purchase, so please feel free to ask the owner if something catches your eye.

Fresh Flowers
You can purchase flowers starting from just a single stem. At NOT FLOWER, we encourage you to pick and combine flowers freely to create your own arrangement. Of course, we're always happy to help if you need any assistance!
-
Custom Bouquets & Arrangements
I want to create each piece with care, tailored to the person it's meant for. Even just a little is enough—please tell me about the recipient, the atmosphere you like, or any subtle feelings you'd like to express. I’d love to put the bouquet together with you, chatting and exchanging ideas along the way.

Pop-up Florist
Once a month, we set up a pop-up flower shop at ALAYA, a café and vintage clothing store in Iwaki City, Fukushima. We've also had the pleasure of bringing our flowers to a hair salon in Tochigi, a café in Niigata, and even to Osaka. We're open to traveling wherever possible, so please feel free to reach out if you're interested!
What Makes NOT FLOWER Special
-
We have benches and chairs available so you can relax and stay awhile. It’s nice to just sit and enjoy the beauty of the flowers at a florist’s shop.
-
We provide Posca markers on the entrance door so you can freely draw or write. Whether it’s doodling or leaving a note, feel free to express yourself!

This building used to be a small traditional Japanese restaurant. While we had help from a carpenter, about half of the renovation was DIY. Our motto was simply “make it as beautiful as possible.” Although it’s an old building with gaps everywhere, a patchwork roof, and lots of imperfections, we cherish it and want to continue caring for it.
-
We removed the tatami mats from the ceiling to create an open, airy loft space! From the second floor, you can also view my grandfather’s artwork and farming tools from my family’s home. Please feel free to ask if you’d like to see them.
